Here is a compilation of resources that I am very familiar with and can verify are legitimate, effective and ethical companies. There are many more that are not listed here because I am only one person who can only read so much. If you know of any companies that you love and support that are not listed on here, please put them in the comments! If you have the money, please donate to one or more of these organizations. But more importantly, spread the word. It is shocking to me how many people are not talking about this aggressively. The survivors deserve better. Scream and shout from the rooftops people. Do not let anyone be ignorant about what is going on out there.

INFORMATIONAL RESOURCES

End Slavery now:

Resources for buying slave free products, including survivor made goods which is super awesome. They also post possible job opportunities and volunteer opportunities for those who really want to get involved!

Fight the new drug

Mainly about porn consumption and how it is connected to Sex trafficking. There are loads of videos and testimonials. They made a informative, interesting and age appropriate three part documentary called ‘Brain. Heart. World’. The ‘World’ section is all about sex trafficking.

They also have Podcast called “Consider Before Consuming” which interviews several survivors and experts in Sex Trafficking.

End It Movement

A coalition of sorts. They partner with a lot of companies including A21 which I will mention later. They do a lot, but what I think they do best is spread awareness. They have gotten the attention of celebrities like Ashton Kutcher, Kristen Bell and Carrie Underwood who have expressed solidarity with this movement, and been involved in some way. End It started the trend of Painting a red X on your hand or else wear to help bring awareness and spark conversations. This symbol is now known nationwide by many.

Other websites I have been recommended by others for Stats and other info:

BOOKS

The Slave Next Door

In my opinion, the most powerful book out there. This book is all about slavery in America. It primarily addresses slavery that isn't just sex trafficking but labor trafficking, which is actually more prevalent. Available on amazon.

Girls Like Us:

Written first hand from Survivor Rachel Lloyd. You can’t go wrong with first-hand testimony.

Sold

If you aren't a big reader or a fan of a documentary style, this truth-based fiction novel is for you.

Beautifully written. Technically an easy read. Emotionally, maybe not.

The Locust Effect

by Gary Haugen and Victor Boutros

This book is so valuable because of how data-driven it is and gives a very groundbreaking answer to how we can change the world around us.

The 2020 Trafficking in Persons Report

By the United States State Department.

This is a crucial read for anyone who wants the cold hard facts on what trafficking looks like all around the world. The United States is the leading country in this area and they do indepth research and work with countries around the world. This report is produced every year and gives countries a grade in how they are doing in their efforts to fight human trafficking. This is an extremely important document that helps us all keep eachother accountable as we all find ways to intervene and challenge Human Trafficking.

RESCUE MISSIONS

Operation Underground Railroad

A really important one. They Lead many protests around America, and have many ways you can get involved. They also have an incredible blog, so read up. They have partnered with Liam Neeson who has spoken on their behalf.

JM - International Justice Mission

Very focused on fixing flaws in the Justice system, hence the name. IJM is one of the bigger companies out there that fight against trafficking, and other issues that can come from poverty. They describe themselves as 'a global organization partnering with local justice systems to end violence against people living in poverty.'

Child Rescue Coalition

Making amazing advancements in the technology used to spot predators. They don’t just focus on rescue, the focus on 'catching the bad guy' and shutting down sites.

Endorsed by Blake Lively, who is an incredible advocate. Watch her speak on the realities of Child trafficking below.

Thorn

Technology builders! Their Sole mission is to become experts on tracking down children put on the internet. This organization was founded by Ashton Kutcher and is really something special.

A21

A christian organization run by inspirational speaker Christine Cain. This company is smaller than others because of its personal approach to rescue. They work very hard to restore survivors by giving them help with housing, medical needs, and therapy so that they can integrate themselves back into society.

PETITION:

Sign to shut down pornhub which has been proven to be a platform for visible sex trafficking of minors. Not only can people upload any content, verified or not, but they also verified a 15 year old girl. Meaning they told their viewers ‘this is a safe video’ and if the person is a minor, what you are watching is ALWAYS rape. SO not safe. SIGN SIGN SIGN!!!!

Here is a video Exodus Cry (Another great organization) has made to expose pornhub for what it is.

ART AND DOCUMENTARIES

Art: Awareness paintings

Exodus Cry had an “art contest with a mission”. They posted the top 20 and the winners. Very powerful. Dark, yet beautiful.

Documentary: Chocolate's Heart of Darkness: Child Labour in Ivory Coast

About the production of Cocoa. It is known that the Chocolate and Coffee industry are the most guilty of trafficking than any other food/drink industry. It is specifically about Labor trafficking which is a major issue we choose to ignore. https://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/specialseries/2020/07/chocolate-heart-darkness-child-labour-ivory-coast-200725132126360.html?fbclid=IwAR26ZVNi8aR0nX3kNheVLz0xv0aLYe5Hk8W9ksjVDaXouTusnvp2Mhibqtw

Film, Documentary: Exodus Cry

“Art is not a mirror held up to reality, but a hammer with which to shape it.” Enough Said.

This organization has made multiple films. Check them all out if your heart can take it.

Netflix Documentary: Epstein Files:

This has been trending for a few weeks now. Very telling of who has the power, and who is abusing it.

Documentary: Sex Trafficking in America

Self explanatory. (love a title that tells you all).

Dance: Derek Hough’s Viral video

No need to speak. Just watch if you haven’t seen it. Watch it again if you have.

TV Series: Three Girls

A three part dramatization of real events that took place in England. Taught me a lot about what grooming is, and how trafficking happens in the western world. (and other places). It’s not kidnapping primarily. It’s thought out brainwashing of the vulnerable.

Music/Music Video: For Those Who Can’t Speak

Christian band Tenth Avenue North featuring Derek Minor and KB.

A video that shows the connection between porn consumption and sex trafficking. Short and sweet. Good for younger people.

Short Movie: “The Deep Place”

Created by IJM to oshare the a survivor story of a child from Ghana that was a forced laborer in Lake Volta!

Podcasts: “The New Activist” by IJM

They share incredible stories from survivors as well as interview people in the field to continue sharing what trafficking really looks like.
