NOTE ON THE PROCESS

Being apart of this project was one of the most unique experiences of my artistic life.When my friend Hana and I booked it, we had no idea what we were in for. Bethany Stenning is an incredible talented composer, singer and director. To me, The Human Project is sort of a Galactic, futuristic folk Album. As an American, I had to delve into a whole new world of Gaelic and English folk, along with Roman Mythology, to really sink my teeth into the complexity of the piece. The Choreography of Ode to Ovid was inspired by the historical Iron Age, as well as futuristic ideas of the use of metal in evolving technology. This entire project was highly collaborative, and as a result, the final product is truly mesmerizing. Stanlæy is definitely one to watch!
